The Valerie Marie Greenhouse

Let the light in...

The Valerie Marie is a glass-window greenhouse built specifically for natural light photography. It has a dainty, chic aesthetic with lots of luscious green plants. The sun sets directly behind the greenhouse, making it perfect for golden hour photo shoots.

The greenhouse is available to photographers to rent, or clients can book directly with Melody Celeste of MC Photography.
It is on a private residence on the Southeast Side of San Antonio.

Rent The Valerie Marie

$75/hour or $250 for up to 5 hours

Photographers can rent The Valerie Marie Greenhouse for one session or mini sessions. The exact address, parking information and guidelines will be sent after booking.

Inside the greenhouse are two vintage couches, an olive green and an ivory. Upon request, we also have a full size bed that works beautifully for newborns or any other session type.

Our Story

the valerie marie Greenhouse

Hi, I'm Melody! I am a fellow San Antonio family photographer, and I own the greenhouse. My dad, Ray, helps me so much with this space. He's the one watering the plants and helping me fix and build things to make the space functional and beautiful.

We built this greenhouse at the end of 2020 as a family project that I could use for my clients. We quickly realized we could share the beauty of this space and opened it to rentals in 2021.

Who is Valerie Marie?
The greenhouse is named in memory of my departed sister, Valerie Marie, as gift to my parents. Valerie means valiant or “possessing or showing courage or determination.” Infant loss — as with any loss — is so difficult, and as mothers, with God’s help, we exhibit so much courage, bravery and strength when we go through loss.

My prayer is that this house — with its stunning sunlight and lively plant life — will be a house of new life and hope in the midst of great loss.

As a personal testimony, I lost my own baby in a miscarriage, and while it was the hardest season of my life, I felt the comfort God like never before. And two years later, I get to celebrate my rainbow baby, Andrew Jeremiah, who is truly joy after the storm.

My prayer is that anyone who has experienced loss like this of a child or any other difficult season of life, can enter The Valerie Marie and feel valor and renewed hope that comes from God.
